D.C. Mayor Bowser: AZ, Texas Governors ‘Tricking’ Migrants Out of Going to ‘Their Final Destinations’
Republican Governors Greg Abbott (Texas) and Doug Ducey (Arizona) are “tricking” illegal immigrants out of going to their “final destinations,” Democrat D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser claims.
In a “Face the Nation” interview Sunday, Mayor Bowser called on the Biden Administration to protect the Nation’s Capital from the illegal aliens coming to her city in buses, courtesy of the Texas and Arizona governors, whose states are being overrun by the illegal aliens flooding in, as a result of Pres. Joe Biden’s open-doors border policy.
Bowser twice accused the states of preventing illegal aliens from going to their “final destinations”:
“We have, for sure, called on the federal government to work across state lines to prevent people from really being tricked into getting on buses. We think they are largely asylum seekers who are going to final destinations that are not Washington, D.C.
“I worked with the White House to make sure that FEMA provided a grant to a local organization that is providing services to folks. But, I fear that they are being tricked into nationwide bus trips when their final destinations are places all over the United States of America.”
Bowser did not say who is responsible for determining the “final destination” of each illegal alien who comes into the U.S., nor what makes the destination “final.”
Fox and Friends reported Monday that the illegal aliens arriving in D.C. are “getting off the bus and hugging the people in charge” and appear happy to be in capital of their new home country.
Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze refuted Bowser’s accusation that the illegal aliens are been misled, telling Fox News Digital that “The only lie is the Biden Administration telling the American people that our border is closed.”
Eze explained that Texas simply can’t handle the number of illegal immigrants coming into the state because of Biden’s refusal to secure the border:
“President Biden’s open border policies have created an ongoing humanitarian crisis, with record-high illegal crossings and deadly drugs like fentanyl flooding into our state.
“Border communities are overrun and overwhelmed, and Governor Abbott launched the border bus mission back in April to help provide support to these communities pleading for help where the Biden Administration is dumping migrants.”
By giving Biden a taste of his own medicine, the hope is that Biden will “finally do his job and secure the border,” Eze said:
“With our nation’s capital now experiencing a fraction of the disaster created by President Biden’s reckless open border policies that our state faces every single day, maybe he’ll finally do his job and secure the border.”
