GOP Congressman: ‘The COVID Cartel Needs to Be Broken Up’
(CNSNews.com) – The origins of COVID should be at the top of the list of oversight committee hearings in the House, Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said Tuesday.
“I am not sure what the speaker has in plan for us doing a review and oversight in regards to the leak from the Wuhan lab, but if no other committee deals with it I hope judiciary does, because somebody needs to deal with it besides the FBI, besides the border, all these things that are going that need to be investigated,” he told Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo.”
“This should be at the top of the list with damage it did to America, and to the world, and when you, you know when you see the words that are chosen — Jake Sullivan yesterday said elements, elements still believe this, an emotionally charged word. Kirby says consensus,” Tiffany said.
“Science is not about consensus, and that is what got us to this problem. The question Maria, is why is the Biden administration continuing to protect the Chinese Communist Party,” the congressman said.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) sent a letter to the Treasury Department, accusing the Biden administration of obstructing the investigation into Biden family influence peddling, and he’s calling for the Treasury Department to testify in front of Congress in March.
Tiffany said that he has not received anything from the Biden administration on the issue.
“So, I certainly have not received anything. I am hopeful that Representative Comer will get that, and he should demand it of the Biden administration. It should not be a request. It should be a demand at this point,” the congressman said.
“We need to see those documents, to be able to understand what happened, because it is clearly — in Kirby’s words consensus. That is not what this is all about. The public is beginning to catch on more and more, even those that went along with the whole COVID ruse. They know it was wrong. The COVID cartel needs to be broken up, and the House of Representatives should lead the way on that,” he said.
