Media Attack NHL Player Who Refused to Wear Pride-Themed Jersey – But Fan Support Causes His Jerseys to Sell Out

While sports media are attacking Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov for abstaining from NHL pre-game Pride festivities, fans are buying up so many of his jerseys online that they’ve sold out.

Provorov respectively declined to wear a Pride-themed jersey for religious reasons, Fox News explains:

“Provorov refused to participate in pregame warmups where players wore Pride-themed jerseys and wielded hockey sticks wrapped in rainbow Pride tape. ‘I respect everyone,’ he told reporters after they won the actual game against the Anaheim Ducks. ‘I respect everybody’s choices. My choice is to stay true to myself and my religion.’

“Multiple news outlets including the Post Millennial, OutKick and Washington Examiner have since reported that the Philadelphia Flyers Provorov jerseys have been selling out in multiple stores online. As of the writing of this article, the only Provorov jerseys that remain in the official NHL shop and their partner, Fanatics, are for women.”

“Provorov’s Branded Backer shirt also is being billed as the best-seller related to Flyers merchandise,” Newsmax reports.

Nonetheless, sports media figures have attacked Provorov, suggesting that he should leave the U.S. if he won’t cheer the LGBTQ lifestyle and criticizing him for having worn a military appreciation jersey in 2021.
