Sen. Tuberville: Biden's Abortion Agenda 'Isn't Progressive, It's Barbaric, And It's Murder'
(CNSNews.com) — Although Democrats routinely call conservative Republicans “radical” or extreme, the actual abortion agenda of the Democrats in Congress and in the Biden admistration is not “progressive,” said Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), it is “heartless” and “inhumane,” and it is “murder.”
Speaking on the Senate floor, Feb. 13, Tuberville, who is a pro-life Christian, outlined Biden’s abortion agenda and how the administration is trying to implement it despite the Supreme Court sending abortion law back to the states in June 2022.
“Democrats frequently reject commonsense proposals — but support extreme policies put forth by the far-far-left wing of their party,” said Tuberville. “Liberal representatives have to do this because they’re aligned with a woke mob that will cancel them if they disagree. Although that far-left mob is very vocal, they don’t represent the vast majority of Americans.”
“Democrats are misusing the federal government to get their way, regardless of what the law, the Constitution, or the American people have to say,” said Tuberville. “No issue shows the radical drift of this administration better than abortion, a very tough, and a very important topic.”
The Democrat Party supports abortion on demand, even up to the moment of birth. The party platform states, “Democrats oppose and will fight to overturn federal and state laws that create barriers to reproductive health and rights. We will repeal the Hyde Amendment, and protect and codify the right to reproductive freedom.”
In addition, the Democrat Party supports broader access to medication abortions. The platform reads, “Democrats oppose restrictions on medication abortion care that are inconsistent with the most recent medical and scientific evidence and that do not protect public health.”
Tuberville continued, “The far left attacks pro-life Americans, and they distract from the fact that their views go well beyond the beliefs of most Americans and most civilized people around the world.”
“The Biden administration supports an extreme, heartless, and inhumane abortion agenda,” he said. “Democrats today believe in abortion at any time, for any reason, with no restrictions or regard for human life.”
According to a recent Knights of Columbus/Marist Poll, 69% of Americans believe abortion should be restricted in some ways, including only during the first trimester (25%), in cases of rape or incest (26%), or only to save the life of the mother (10%).
At least 8% of Americans believe that abortion should not be allowed under any circumstance, while 21% think abortion should be allowed at any time during a pregnancy. The remaining 10% believe abortion should be allowed up to six months gestation.
“I am proud to be pro-life for many reasons, including my faith — another thing that I will not set aside for political correctness,” said tuberville. “However, even without considering religion, a society that allows abortion up-to, and past the moment of birth — after the baby is born — isn’t progressive. It’s barbaric. And it’s murder.”
“The Biden administration is attempting to use — at this time, now — our military, our veterans’ affairs facilities, your taxpayer dollars, maybe even a ridiculous new public health emergency in the very [near] future, to go at this agenda,” added the senator. “All to make sure there is unrestricted access to ending the life of an unborn child. That is extreme.”
